Our clients started with a quaint cottage of a bungalow on Newmarket Avenue in Toronto. They had a vision for their addition and home remodel from the start. They searched out images online of things they envisioned they wanted in their own home and made a wish list.
Doing your homework and creating a “wish list” of items for your project is very helpful to your Architect who will design the home with your input and ideas. The build portion of a project like this will go smoothly if you have all your selections for finishes picked out ahead of time. For this project, they wanted siding with contrasting trim. Some of the main floor windows were kept as they were newer, so they chose complimentary windows for the new addition. You will notice too, that they kept their front entry door, which cuts down on costs to your budget.
The owners also envisioned a nice roof deck off the Master bedroom so that they could enjoy their evenings in a private area of their home away from prying eyes. They designed the addition and finishes and now get to enjoy the home for years to come.
